MTIE

HOW IT STARTED:

Our team worked with Mamu Tshishkutamashutau Innu Education (MTIE) to create a new website for community members, elders, faculty, and students.

The key to this site was a news section to keep everyone up-to-date with what’s happening in their two schools.

We also included a resource section for the entire community with resources for students and elders within Natuashish and Sheshatshiu.

WHAT DID WE DO?

With mobile speeds and internet access limited in some areas of Labrador, an optimized site was crucial.

Also key was website ease of use on mobile with smartphones becoming more prominent in all age groups.

Looking Forward

It was such a powerful experience to work with such passionate and wonderful community leaders.

What an honour to build a tool to share their culture, help connect their communities, showcase the incredible work they are doing in their schools, and share Innu-aimun resources for younger generations and older community members alike to learn and practice their language.
