Getting Social Online

Hey Guys, Dc here!

What do you do when you’re a serious brand with a lot of very practical information you need to be posted online? Presenting the important information in a clear, clean and modern way was the opportunity we faced when working on the new website for the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Social Workers (NLASW), and we were happy to help along with our friends at FocusFS. The websites that Social Fire Starter design are visually appealing, with custom elements that complement the rest of your branding. We don’t use a cookie cutter template when designing websites. Each of the websites we create is unique and eye-catching, so potential clients will want to stick around to explore more of your website. You can visit https://www.socialfirestarter.com/web-design/ for better information.

Knowing this association serves a specific audience meant that our website had to hold easy access and visual appeal to keep them happy to come back. Just ask Greg, who worked with our team on the design aspects to help us complete the gorgeous and professional website that serves up piles of info and plenty of care at NLASW.ca

The Challenge

Our goal was to create a one-stop shop that encapsulates the many resources NLASW’s members require, while keeping them up to date with the current news and events happening in our province.

NLASW is the regulatory body and professional association for social workers in Newfoundland and Labrador. It’s committed to improving the well-being of the public by ensuring high-quality social work practice and advancing health and social policy.

We focused on showing – not telling – the reader about the exceptional work they do. We used beautiful visuals, combined with a elaborate but intuitive sitemap to really direct readers to exactly what they’re looking for.

The Solution

The main hero image and slider system features quick links to important sections like news, member registration, and events, and is paired with an instantly-recognizable icon system based on the existing NLASW brand. This is a friendly, welcoming interface to point you in the right direction.

Scroll down and you can see we stayed close to the overall aesthetic of the existing NLASW brand, while adding a modern touch. Using the elegant color combination of gold and blue, and a clean modular design makes this site look and feel great on any screen size, while easily offering up the plethora of information in an unintimidating way for any user. That’s what is called proper web design and that’s what Sandcastle Web Design & Development can do for your site as well (visit sandcastle-web.com/services/website-design/ for details).

The End All Be All

Whatever the need – whether it be a newcomer looking for a simple intro to social work in Newfoundland and Labrador, or an experienced practitioner in search of some valuable resources, it’s all in one place.

Practice Matters

Associations like the NLASW do so much good in our province and provide the services we’re lucky to have in our community, day-to-day. Often in the background, social workers carry on with the good work that makes all our lives better, but with this new website they’ve got a beautiful place to share their stories that won’t be fading into the background soon.

Looking Forward,

Dc
