Each December with our #CupofCheer, we let our clients vote for one of six amazing local causes that we have ties to. We commit to helping with a donation of our time and expertise in the new year based on who gets the most votes.
This year, our clients overwhelmingly voted for Home Again Furniture Bank, which helps people make a house a home with gently-loved furniture, household items, and home decor!

So great; we’ve already met with them and are working on some things to help them brand better and reach more people with furniture to give … or receive.
Annnnd to keep the fun going, we added something extra:
There’s no denying that we’re the #CakeCapital up in the Design House, so we were thrilled to send out our annual Christmas gift with a tasty little challenge. And what did we get back? The gift of creativity and a little magic!
This year inside our lovin’ cup, we sent a cake mix, instructions, and a challenge – to make the most creative cake – for a chance to name a second organization who we will help in 2017.

UpSkyDown Films
If there were an award for cuteness – well Roger Maunder would take that hands down. Roger apparently didn’t have a cupcake pan, so he made these sparkly cupcakes with his kids in a frying pan! Honourable mentions all around.
Horizon Health Network
The Horizon Health Network in New Brunswick shared this fruity concoction with us – Strawberry Shortcake! It came in a close second, because it just looked so yummy!
Quikprint Services
This cake has everything going for it! It’s Dc blue, has an actual cup and are those Oreos we see? Ah-Mazing job Quikprint team!
Home Again
This cake blew our minds! The Home Again team stopped by the office and unveiled this sweet cake that showed off elements of its logo, and a happy child asleep in a happy little bed – no doubt one that Home Again furnished him with.
Drumroll please
At the end of the day we asked for the most creative baked goods, and Home Again took the cake with their entry!
We contacted Home Again about the news and this is what they had to say:

A gift worth giving
Thanks to all of your votes, and their frosting skills, Home Again won the gift that truly keeps on giving – marketing! They will be able to help even more people throughout the Avalon area, set up even more happy warm homes.
We’re so excited about making that happen and we can’t wait to tell you all about it before the 2017 Cup Of Cheer kicks off again in November.
