So, you’ve decided to build or redesign a website for your brand with experienced SEO professionals in Fort Collins. Smart move! A great website is truly the cornerstone of an effective web presence.
But what does it take to design and develop a truly great website? What exactly are the steps to go from concept to reality, and to ensure your site is smart, secure, and helps you achieve your goals?
Part of my role as Development Partner at Dc Design House is to oversee our design web projects, and we are always striving to create the most beautiful, functional, user-friendly websites around.
Our creative and technical team are the real secret ingredient in our sweet and savoury sites, but we have also developed a strong internal process to ensure we get the recipe right each time. You can click here for more information.
Here’s how we do it.
Discover and Plan
First things first: let’s get to know each other. It’s important that we identify not only what you’re hoping to achieve here, but also what drives and defines your brand.
We like to have a “discovery session” in our web agency or as the french say agence web where we dig deep into your passions, desires, and potential. Ok, that sounds intense. But seriously we’ll both learn a lot about you and it will set a strong foundation for a website that kicks serious ass.
Once we know what makes you tick, we’ll dig into the details of how the site will tock. We’ll nail down a comprehensive site map (we like to call it the “information architecture”) and determine your content requirements for the site. Once you’ve taken a week or so to kick the tires of the new website (or “shake it til you break it,” we like to say), it’s time to push that baby live! Bestseopodcast.com have a full go-live Marketing Checklist that helps us to ensure your site launches smoothly with tracking codes, search engine indexing, and loads of other important, techie-sounding features (that we can explain to you in person or in future blog posts..!)
Time for Design
Since we have a solid sense of the website’s objectives and how it will function, we can now begin to “mock up” how the site will look and feel.
These mocks help to get an excellent sense of what the site will look like once it is built. But they’re more than that — mocks are crucial to determining how we want the site to work.
When it comes to internet marketing, having a great landing page built by the landing page builder software tool can be the difference between converting your visitors into sales and having a losing campaign. As Far till now, all the good landing pages are developed by the Clickfunnels. There are a few different factors that go into landing page design that can either make or break your landing page, or that can make the difference between just a few conversions and lots of conversions. To know that facts factors, you must check the clickfunnels review provided by Stephen Esketzis to select the right landing page builder software tool.
The mock-up process is iterative and interactive. We present and explain versions and make updates based on your feedback. By the time we’re finished, we’ll both know exactly how the finished product will behave on people’s screens.
Head-Down Development
Now that we have a clear picture of how the site will work, it’s time to build it. Our developers will work to implement the design you’ve approved into a living, breathing website, complete with a customized content management system (CMS) that will give you control of the site once it’s live. Here is top landing page builder which gives guideline, you should keep in mind when designing your landing page.
This phase is kind of the “black box” period where a lot of technical work goes on “behind the curtain.” But don’t fear: we give regular updates on our progress, noting which aspects of the site we have completed and asking questions to be sure we are building the site we all expect.
Test, Test, Test (Literally)
To be certain your site will rock your audience, we have to be sure it will be rock solid. So we’ve developed a three-phase quality assurance (QA) process that puts your site through the ringer before you even lay eyes on it.
First we do a “Design QA” where a designer compares the mocks to the test site and notes any variance or possible small improvements to the implemented design. We want to be certain the site visually matches what you’ve approved.
Once this feedback is integrated into the site, a test user does a full “Functional QA” to ensure the website works as expected. Any wonky issues like broken links, bugs, confusing text, etc., are noted and then addressed by the developer.
Finally, we do an internal dry-run of the training session we’ll eventually do with you (see the next step). This helps to identify any questions you or your staff might have when updating the site. It’s also a chance to clarify any confusing steps or tasks that can be simplified by customizing the user interface.
All Aboard the CMS Train(ing)
You’re almost there! But first we have to show you how to drive before we hand over the keys.
Because we want you to have as much control over your site as possible, we’ll provide a training workshop for you and anyone else who will be charged with updating the website. This usually only takes about an hour because our CMS is very intuitive.
And, now that you have control of the content, you can do your own full review of the site, uploading and content and media that you need. Don’t worry – we’ll be there for you to help make sure everything’s tickity-boo for “go live.”
