Dc Presents: August Faves

We love sharing the cool things we find. Emails are always flying amongst the team filled with “Cool!” Or, “did you see this?” And, of course, “Loves it!” We’ve taken some recents and curated the best of the best for you.

Booking.yeah

We love putting a little smirk on things here at the Design House. So this latest social campaign from Booking.com was right up our alley. They asked their audience to submit their best jealously-inducing summer photos using the #WingItYeah hashtag. They then turned over their favourites to a team of designers to create cheeky animated GIFs.

From now until September 3 they will be releasing a new batch of winners every day. Which is your favourite?

Instagram Breaks Out of Its Square Box

Ever had to crop out bae’s head from a pic because you just couldn’t make it fit Instagram’s square along with your own magnificent mug? Those days are gone.

Just this past week, Instagram announced that they’re breaking out of their box and now supporting pictures of all styles: squares, portraits, and landscapes. You can tell your story exactly how you want, without having to leave out bits. The most exciting part isn’t the extra dishes we’re going to see in your brunch shots but the fact that videos can now be posted in widescreen format, which is great news for marketers.

It’s not hip to be square!

Hipstervention

Our last fav thing this month is this cheeky site from Bic trying to liberate your face from your hipster beard. Companies that don’t take themselves too seriously are what we thrive on and this is a great example. We love the cool, retro tattoo design of the site with content with the right mix of snark and humour.

Do you have a beardy man in your life who needs a hipstervention?

Have you seen anything cool and delightful on the web recently? Share it with us in the comments. Want to talk more about these three and how you can use them in your business? Get in touch!
