When you’ve lost someone you love, it’s the little things that you hold onto. A token or some kind of thing that reminds you of the moments you shared and the way you felt. That’s what Karlande offers.
A couple years ago, I gave my Mom a Hope Crystals bracelet in memory of my Nan’s passing. It included Nan’s favourite stones.

When Karlande called looking for a little help with their website, we jumped at the chance to help. We worked on a design that really helped the bracelets connect. Here’s Sid to tell you all about how we made it happen.
What is a Karlande?
A combination of the names of loved ones, Karlande is a tribute, just like every piece of handmade jewelry created by Karlande designs. Their product is designed for special occasions, weddings, tributes to loved ones, and their most inspiring product, Hope Crystals which can be used as table centerpieces in special events and specially over a party table linen you can easily find in an online store.
What are Hope Crystals?
One of the things that drew us to Karlande is their incredible support for people with cancer. They can’t provide care, nor a cure. But they can provide some hope or conjure a memory.
A portion of each sale is donated to help support and comfort those fighting cancer. This is probably the main reason we wanted to work with Karlande designs, to make them look as good as they make people feel.
Modern Look; Modern Technology
One amazing thing you’re starting to see with modern websites, are services that allow users to set up powerful e-commerce sites with ease and without compromises. That’s why imminentbusiness ecommerce software made the most sense for Karlande. It’s a service allowing them to sell their jewelry online with a much smaller cost. To stretch the budget further, we used a pre-built template.
Same, Same, But Different
Honestly, we love doing custom websites. It’s where we get to stretch our creative muscles and showcase the kind of creative problem solving we’re known for! That said, sometimes it’s far more cost effective to use a template. Plus, ya know, we customized the hell out of it!

Colours, fonts, layout, newsletter signup, testimonials, etc., all these things make a template transform into a beautiful (and functional) website. We made sure you experience the Karlande brand as you learn about them and, of course, shop.
The Pièces de Résistance
The site was beautiful and product-focused – but like everything we do, when I feel connected to the work, I go all out!
We went to Mom’s house early one Saturday morning to shoot photos and video of Mom putting on the bracelet.
That looping video on the main page does a lot to make visitors feel the true context of those beautiful bracelets. It feels like exactly what Karlande is all about; personalized gifts to commemorate a special time – or person.
