St. John’s summers are super short. At the Design House, we knew we had to make the most of the season by hitting up our fav spots in town and grabbing summer by the wheeee! Read on for a behind-the-scenes look at how we did just that and created adeadly ol’ video.

Sweet teams are made of these

When we first told the gang we were going to do a summer fun video, they were totally game. I mean, who doesn’t want to spend an afternoon having a laugh with these beauties?!

For the video, we bopped from Bannerman Park, to Victoria, and then to Bowring, in the ultimate prop — a blue, 1970s VW van — sharing the Design House love with everyone we met.

It takes a special team to create great work and have fun while doing it. On shooting day, our studio manager, Darrell, was behind the camera; I gave creative direction; and the team ran around, bringing the energy AND the heat! This kind of collaboration, inside and outside of the office, is what we LOVE.

The funny thing is — to keep an element of surprise, we didn’t exaaaaactly tell the team what we were doing. (Whoops!) They knew it involved frisbees, parks, and wearing comfy shoes. The result? Hilarious, candid footage and loads of laughs. What more could we ask for?!

Summer = all work and all play

You may be asking, “But Don-E! How did you celebrate a hard day’s work?” We took a load off and chilled in the park, of course! We’re all work and all play.
